Dog of the Quarter
"Bogey"
Imperials Happy Go Lucky

We call her
Bogey. Although calling her Happy would have been a good choice as most people
remark about what a
happy dog she is. The next comment is usually about her big head!
Bogey earned her Companion Dog (CD) title in obedience this summer. She took two
second places and a high scoring Terrier award. We also represented the Downey
Obedience Club at the Top Dog Competition in the Novice class.

Bogey had a lot of setbacks on her way to her
CD. At the age of 7 months she underwent surgery on both hips - triple pelvic
osteotomy. Exactly one year later she went in for cruciate ligament surgery on her left
knee, the next year, her right knee. After each surgery Bogey was back and ready to
go. She never let it get her down. I have learned a lot about patience from
this wonderful dog!
She has an incredible zest and exuberance for life. Bogey loves to meet new people
and I'm sure she considers each to be her new best friend. She loves to train and will sit
in the backyard after a session and look into the kitchen window just waiting for me to
come back out! At matches and trials Bogey never failed to make the judge smile or
laugh! At Top Dog our judge commented that "She must be a fun dog to train." She
is that and more! Bogey is my buddy, my happy dog.
